​Mountain holidays in a sunny, absolutely quiet panoramic location at 1,300 m above sea level - that's what awaits you on our Almchalet Goldbergleiten. In the former mountain farmhouse, built in ecologically exemplary and healthy solid wood construction, lovingly and carefully renovated, peace, relaxation and alpine experiences await you in crystal clear and fog-free mountain air. And if you want, exquisite culinary delights such as fondue or barbecue evenings, seafood dinners fresh from the Adriatic or gourmet wine tastings from the landlord's legendary wine cellar.

Mountain hikes, mountain bike tours and, in midwinter, snowshoe and ski tours are possible right from the front door. The Heiligenblut-Grossglockner ski area is about 15 minutes by car. Your children and your dogs can play and run around to their heart's content. Because there is no car traffic here anymore, behind us there is only forest and nature. Nevertheless, you can reach the village of Sagritz in around 10 minutes via the hiking trail, where there is a pub, shopping facilities and, in winter, a ski bus stop.

True to our motto “Cabin romance + comfort”, you will immerse yourself in the special flair of an old Alpine mountain farmhouse. The crackling wood fire in the old farmer's stove, the original old ceiling beams, the massive, creaking hut door, hunting trophies and pictures on the walls take you on a romantic journey back to old times.

Nevertheless, you don't have to miss out on anything. The Alpine chalet is equipped with everything imaginable to experience a mountain holiday at a comfortable level. Great importance was placed on ecological compatibility and sustainability. Ecological building fabric, pure natural wood construction with local spruce and larch wood, and the extensive avoidance of synthetic insulation and building materials during renovation ensure a healthy indoor climate throughout the entire hut. Today, after an expert and careful renovation in 2023, our Almchalet Goldbergleiten offers you vacation, sport and relaxation in a wonderful, healthy mountain world. Our water has always come from our own source in the mountain forest, in mineral water quality. Anywhere else it would be bottled and sold for expensive money.

You can cater for yourself in your holiday home. The kitchen is perfectly equipped with all conceivable appliances and utensils, and elaborate dishes are also possible. Once a week we traditionally invite our guests to dinner: in summer for a barbecue in the garden, and in winter for an exquisite fondue or raclette evening in our private pine parlor. Of course, always with matching wines from the well-stocked wine cellar of our hunting lodge. In spring and autumn you can take part in cooking courses and seminars on topics such as herbal spring cuisine, mushrooms, rare jams, fruits of the forest and much more with “hut landlady” Alla.

Three cozy bedrooms with natural wood furniture in a cabin style, each with a balcony and a view of the 3000-meter peaks of the Hohe Tauern, and the peace and quiet of our secluded location ensure relaxation and a healthy sleep. At night you can sleep peacefully with the window open, you won't hear anything except the gentle murmur of the mountain stream, the call of a forest bird or, sometimes in autumn, the rutting call of a large stag. Of course there is high-speed WiFi throughout the house and a smart TV with Netflix, internet browser and the most important streaming services. 

Outside, a large sun terrace with a barbecue area invites you to have a barbecue, and even in winter you can sunbathe in our mountain sun on a deck chair. Our large, sunny natural garden with a breathtaking mountain panorama is perfect for relaxing and for the kids to play. You can help yourself to the organic herbs that we cultivate there to your heart's content.

In the cozy reading room, furnished with valuable antiques and works of art, you can finally read the book you've been wanting to read for a long time. Of course, this goes well with a good glass of wine from the hut's supply. There is intentionally no television or stereo system here.

By the way, the name "Goldbergleiten" comes from the Goldberg group massif, at the foot of which our mountain chalet is located and where gold and silver mining was still actively carried out until a good 100 years ago. Even today, our guests can try their hand at panning for gold in the summer; definitely with realistic chances of success.
