Alpine summer season finale
Celebrate the end of a beautiful mountain summer with us!
The last holiday of the summer season is the national holiday on October 26th, which commemorates Austria's final sovereignty in 1955 and its commitment to neutrality.
For us at the Almchalet Goldbergleiten, it is an occasion to celebrate the farewell to summer and look forward to a good winter season. It officially begins on November 1st, and immediately with another big holiday: All Saints Day.
We do this with an exquisite raclette evening in the old farmhouse parlor on the romantic ground floor of the lodge, and of course suitable drinks are included.
For hiking enthusiasts, this is the last opportunity of the season to immerse themselves in the high mountain world once again. The long-distance view from the peaks is ideal in late autumn, and the flat light of the autumn sun allows for fantastic photographs. As long as the weather conditions permit, you can still drive the Grossglockner High Alpine Road to the Franz Josef Höhe and, with a bit of luck, observe the majestic ibexes there.
At the same time, you can already go skiing on the Mölltal Glacier, not far from us, because the season opened there on October 12th. With the Kärnten Card, which you get from us as a free inclusive service, you can use the glacier railway for free as a pedestrian, as well as many other leisure attractions and museums in Carinthia until November 3rd. The excursion steamers on Lake Millstatt and Lake Ossiach, also free for you, are still running until October 27th.
